Scrump is a Discord reminder bot that sends personal reminders by DM. You can create a one-time reminder, schedule a recurring reminder, snooze it when it arrives, manage upcoming reminders from Discord or the web dashboard, and subscribe to them from a calendar app.
Discord reminders can be used by everyone and do not require server-management permissions.

How to set a reminder in Discord

Run /reminders create what: when:. Describe what you want to remember in what: and enter a relative duration in when:.
Scrump accepts natural relative durations such as 10 minutes, 2 hours, 1 day, 3 weeks, or 6 months. A reminder must be at least one minute away and no more than three years away. See the relative time syntax guide for more examples.

Create a recurring Discord reminder

Add the optional repeat: value to make a repeating reminder.
After each delivery, Scrump schedules the next occurrence using the repeat interval. If the bot was unavailable for several intervals, it advances to the next future occurrence instead of sending every missed reminder. The recurring Discord reminder continues until you mark it complete or delete it. Useful recurring reminder ideas include:
  • Daily check-ins or medication reminders
  • Weekly server announcements and event planning
  • Monthly moderation or community reviews
  • Regular game-night, study-session, or meeting reminders

Manage Discord reminders

Use /reminders list to view your upcoming reminders and reminder IDs. Use /reminders delete reminder_id: to delete a one-time or recurring reminder. Discord autocomplete helps you select one of your existing reminders.
You can also sign in at scrumpbot.com and open the user dashboard to search, create, and manage reminders. The dashboard provides one-time, daily, weekly, every-two-weeks, and every-30-days schedules.

Reminder DMs, completion, and snoozing

When a reminder arrives in your Discord DMs, you can:
  • Mark the reminder as complete
  • Snooze it and choose another duration
  • Let a recurring reminder schedule its next delivery
If your Discord privacy settings prevent bot DMs, allow direct messages or otherwise make sure Scrump can contact your account.

Add Discord reminders to a calendar

Run /reminders create-calendar-subscription to generate a private iCal subscription link. You can add this feed to compatible calendar software to see upcoming Scrump reminders outside Discord. Running the command again replaces the old private link. You can also download the reminders iCal feed from the Scrump user dashboard. Treat the subscription URL as private because anyone with the link may be able to read the reminder feed.

Discord reminder troubleshooting

If the reminder command does not accept a time, check that:
  • The duration includes a number and unit, such as 45 minutes or 2 days.
  • The reminder is between one minute and three years in the future.
  • The recurring repeat: duration is also within that range.
  • Scrump is allowed to send DMs to your Discord account.
  • The reminder still appears in /reminders list.
