Scrump lets you quote a Discord message as a shareable image containing the message text, author name, and avatar. The Discord quote generator works from the message context menu, so you do not need to copy text into a separate quote maker or image editor.
Generating and saving Discord quotes does not require special server permissions.

How to quote someone on Discord

1

Open the message context menu

Right-click the Discord message you want to quote. On mobile, tap and hold the message.
2

Select the quote generator

Open Apps and select Generate Quote. Scrump creates a quote image using the original message content, author, and avatar.
3

Share or save the quote

The generated image is posted in the current conversation. Select Save to your quotes if you want to add it to your personal saved-quotes collection.
Scrump renders message text, mentions, line breaks, and Discord emoji in quote images. To include both sides of a reply, first quote the reply and then use Generate Quote on the referenced message within 60 seconds.

Change the Discord quote theme

Run /user-settings quote-theme theme: to choose how messages authored by you look when someone generates a quote from them.
Available Discord quote themes include Dark, Personal, Ultra dark, Green text, Light mode, Blurple, Hacker, Spark, Karma, Bait, Fresh, Cool, Typeset, Icarus, Hazard, Slaying, Oxford, Rosy, and inverse variants. The personal theme uses colours generated from the quoted author’s Discord avatar. To return your own messages to the default style, select Dark (default).

Save and manage Discord quotes

Select Save to your quotes below a generated image to keep the original quote in your Scrump account. Use /quotes view quote: to search for and repost a saved quote. Use /quotes delete quote: to remove one from your saved collection. Saved quotes are also available from the Scrump user dashboard.

Create a server quote channel

Server managers can automatically forward generated quote images to a dedicated highlights, memories, or hall-of-fame channel. Run /quote-guild-settings set-quote-channel channel: and select the destination.
This setting requires Manage Server. Scrump also needs permission to send messages, embed links, and attach files in the destination channel. Run the command without selecting a channel to remove the server quote destination.

Discord quote troubleshooting

If Generate Quote is missing or the image cannot be posted, check that:
  • Scrump is installed for the server or your Discord account.
  • You opened the message’s Apps context menu rather than the normal slash-command list.
  • The selected message contains text.
  • Scrump can attach files in the current channel.
  • Scrump can send messages and attach files in the configured server quote channel.

Discord quote FAQ

How do you quote a message on Discord?

Right-click the message, choose Apps, and select Generate Quote. Scrump turns the Discord message into an image with the author’s avatar, name, and original text.

Does Discord have a quote command?

Discord has replies and blockquote formatting, but it does not natively turn a message into a styled quote image. Scrump adds a Generate Quote message action for that purpose.

Can I make a Discord quote image on mobile?

Yes. Tap and hold the message, open Apps, and select Generate Quote.

Can I save funny or memorable Discord quotes?

Yes. Select Save to your quotes under the generated image, then use /quotes view or the Scrump user dashboard to find it later.

Can a server collect every generated quote in one channel?

Yes. A manager can run /quote-guild-settings set-quote-channel to forward new quote images to a selected server channel.
