Scrump is a Discord giveaway bot for creating timed giveaways, collecting entries, checking eligibility, and choosing winners automatically. Use it for Discord Nitro giveaways, game keys, server rewards, event prizes, or community competitions without manually tracking reactions or entrants.
Creating and managing Discord giveaways requires Manage Server permission.

How to create a Discord giveaway

1

Start the giveaway command

Run /giveaway create channel: winner_count: prize: duration: and complete the required options.
  • channel: chooses the text channel or thread where the giveaway is posted.
  • winner_count: sets how many winners Scrump selects.
  • prize: names the Nitro, game, role, product, or other reward.
  • duration: accepts relative times such as 30 minutes, 2 hours, 5 days, or 1 week.
  • message_requirement: optionally requires entrants to have sent a minimum number of server messages.
  • suggested_server: optionally displays another Discord server invite on paid plans.
2

Configure entry requirements

Use the interactive setup message to add required roles. By default, entrants need every selected role. Paid plans can allow entrants who have any one of the selected roles.
3

Add bonus entries

Add bonus roles when supporters, boosters, or event participants should receive extra giveaway entries. Each role can award a different number of bonus entries.
4

Review and publish

Check the prize, end time, winner count, entry rules, and preview before publishing the Discord giveaway.

Discord giveaway entry requirements

Scrump can make a giveaway more useful than a basic reaction giveaway. Available eligibility and entry controls include:
  • Required Discord roles
  • A minimum server message count earned after the giveaway starts
  • Bonus entries for selected roles
  • A suggested Discord server on paid plans
  • Custom written requirements on paid plans, checked manually by the host
Required roles and message requirements are checked by Scrump. Custom written requirements are displayed to entrants but must be verified by the giveaway host.

Manage an active Discord giveaway

Use /giveaway manage to open the management view for currently running giveaways. Giveaways end automatically when the configured duration expires. To finish one early, copy the giveaway message link and run:
To run the winner selection again after a giveaway has ended, use:
A reroll does not exclude previous winners, so the same eligible member can be selected again.

Paid plans can also remove the Powered by Scrump footer from the giveaway.

Discord giveaway troubleshooting

If a giveaway bot command does not publish the giveaway, check that:
  • Scrump can view the selected channel, send messages, embed links, attach files, and read message history.
  • The duration uses a supported relative time such as 2 hours or 7 days.
  • The winner count, duration, requirements, and concurrent giveaways are within the server plan limits.
  • The copied URL for /giveaway end or /giveaway reroll is the original Scrump giveaway message.
  • The giveaway has ended before you try to reroll its winners.
See relative time syntax for more duration examples.

Discord giveaway FAQ

How do I make a giveaway on Discord?

Run /giveaway create, select a channel, enter the number of winners, name the prize, and choose a duration. Scrump posts the giveaway, accepts eligible entries, closes it at the end time, and selects the winners.

Can a Discord bot pick giveaway winners automatically?

Yes. Scrump automatically selects the configured number of eligible winners when the giveaway ends. Hosts can use /giveaway reroll to run the eligible winner selection again later.

Can I require a role to enter a Discord giveaway?

Yes. During giveaway setup, add one or more required roles and choose whether entrants need every role or only one of them. You can also give selected roles bonus entries.

Can I require members to be active before entering?

Yes. Set message_requirement: when you create the giveaway. Scrump checks how many server messages the member has sent after that giveaway started before accepting the entry.

How do I end or reroll a Discord giveaway?

Copy the giveaway message link. Use /giveaway end giveaway_url: to end an active giveaway early, or /giveaway reroll giveaway_url: after it has ended to run the winner selection again. A previous winner may be selected again.
